On Sunday 17th, Erika and Max invited us for a cycle ride to see the 'Balzer Herrgott', or the Christ in the Tree. This is a sculpture that someone had made and hung on the tree, it was full size when it went up, but the interesting thing is that the tree has grown over it, and now only the head is showing. There are some very good descriptive posters at the side, and they say that this year they had to cut some of the tree away as it was beginning to cover the head.

In the evening Diana and I went for a walk in the forest which surrounds the village.
